Mayor Toby Tiangco urged Navotas-based companies to have their employees tested for free at the city’s community testing for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Companies are encouraged to have their employees screened for COVID-19. While many are willing to comply, they are daunted by the price of the swab test kits which cost up to P8,000,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
“Navotas, with the help of our national government, currently provides free swab tests to our residents. Companies are welcome to avail of this program for their employees, whether they are Navoteños or not,” he added.
Tiangco said it is important to include non-Navoteño workers because if they test positive of the virus, they could infect co-workers who live in the city.

Navotas sends 1,000 residents daily to Palacio de Maynila in Malate, Manila for swab tests.
Another 1,000 are tested daily at designated testing facilities within Navotas during the city’s lockdown.
The city government implemented a 14-day lockdown from July 16 to July 29 after it recorded a rapid increase of COVID cases.
Some 12,674 swab tests have been done since March, when the city recorded its first confirmed case of the disease.
