GMA shows join list of TV programs around the globe to run without live audience

Daily noontime show Eat Bulaga has “temporarily suspended” the admission of a live studio audience due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Yesterday morning, the management of the GMA Network show joined the list of other daily shows around the globe to run without a live audience. In a statement posted on its official Instagram account, Eat Bulaga stated that it wanted to help prevent the spread of the virus and to ensure the health and safety of its talent, staff, crew, and member of its audience.

Please understand this decision was made after extensive and careful consideration in order to cooperate with government efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19,” the statement said.

On a positive note, the show promised to continue delivering smiles to the homes of its avid viewers.

Following Eat Bulaga’s announcement, in view of the declaration of the state of public health emergency and other recent developments related to the COVID-19 outbreak, GMA Network is temporarily suspending the admission of live studio audiences in all of our programs such as All-Out Sundays, Centerstage, Mars Pa More, Wowowin, Wowowin Primetime, Idol sa Kusina, The Boobay and Tekla Show, Sarap ‘Di Ba?, and Tonight With Arnold Clavio.

Further, all of the network’s external activities and events in Metro Manila are also put on hold until further notice,” the statement said.

These measures are being undertaken to help ensure the safety and well-being of all concerned and as part of GMA’s cooperation with the government in its efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. We strongly urge everyone to remain calm and cautious, and to follow the official advisories released by the authorities,” the statement ended.
