Police face blank wall in Kim try

Police are facing a blank wall as regards the shooting incident involving actress-television host Kim Chiu’s vehicle in Quezon City.

In an interview, Major Elmer Monsalve, Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit head, said: “they have yet to establish the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the incident.”

“The investigation is still ongoing,” he told the Manila Standard.

When asked how soon the police could solve the case, Monsalve, however, declined to comment.

While the QCPD special investigation task group was able to obtain footage of the closed-circuit television at Chiu’s village, he said: “the crime scene has very limited CCTV accessibility.”

He reiterated his call to motorists to help them solve the case, asking for their cooperation to provide the police with dashcam footages that could have captured the incident.

Two motorcycle-riding suspects stalked Kim and waited for her van to exit the village where she lived based on CCTV footage.

They tailed and shot Kim’s vehicle eight times on Wednesday at around 6:15 a.m.

Kim, her personal assistant, and driver were reported unharmed and safe.
