Barbie Forteza and David Licauco were named on Monday, Sept. 23, as the newest ambassadors of Save the Children Philippines.
Coinciding with the International Day of Peace, the “Pulang Araw” stars aim to amplify the voices of children and inspire people to protect the rights of every child.
“They will lead efforts to elevate children’s voices and encourage others to safeguard and uphold the rights of every child,” Sparkle GMA Artist Center wrote on its social media accounts.
During the contract signing, Barbie expressed her commitment to influencing children to become aware of their rights.
“Gagamitin ko po ang aking profession [as an] actress, at ang aking platform to influence our children to know their rights kahit at an early age. At syempre, pagbutihin ang kanilang pag-aaral nang sa ganon ay sila’y magiging mabubuting leaders in the future,” she said.
On the other hand, David emphasized the role of artists in setting a good example for children and youth.
“I think it’s time for us to use our platforms for good. Our goal is to set a good example for the youth, to inspire, and empower the children to keep chasing their dreams,” David stated.
