The multinational automotive distributors have made significant leadership changes aimed at bolstering its strategic growth after a successful inaugural year in the country. The leading automotive distributor entered the Philippine market in August 2023 through a joint venture with CATS Group of Companies. Since then, it has achieved impressive milestones, including being appointed the official distributor for Changan vehicles and launching new facilities that enhance aftersales services.
The success of Inchcape Philippines is rooted in its #OneInchcape culture, which emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to customers and partners. This ethos has garnered the company the Great Place To Work® certification, marking it as the first Inchcape entity in the South Asia & Pacific region to receive this honor.
As of August 9, Alex Hammett has transitioned from his role as Head of Inchcape Philippines to the position of Managing Director for South Asia & Pacific. In this new capacity, he will oversee growth across multiple markets while remaining based in the Philippines. Frankie Ang, the outgoing Chief Operating Officer, will conclude his operational role by the end of the year but will continue to serve on the Board.
Stepping into the role of Country Head is Alex Yap, who brings over 25 years of automotive experience. His previous roles in digital transformation and customer experience enhancement equip him to lead Inchcape’s distribution and service excellence for prestigious brands like Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Changan, positioning the company for ongoing success in a competitive market.
