Biyaya Animal Care continues to make strides in animal welfare with several upcoming initiatives aimed at sustaining their impactful work. The organization runs various programs, including low-cost kapon, free kapon in collaboration with local government units, TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return), and adoption drives to promote responsible pet ownership.
Their sanctuary in Alfonso, Cavite, currently houses over 800 rescued animals, offering them a second chance at life. Ortiz’s team also works with veterinary schools for disease studies and provides animal handling courses to ensure comprehensive care and education.
Biyaya Animal Care is also mounting a fundraising event, “Deadpool & Wolverine Block Screening for a Cause,” on July 27, 2024, at Trinoma Cinema 1 at 1 p.m. This event aims to aid funding for their animal sanctuary and continue to provide the basic needs and medical treatments for their rescued dogs and cats.
The organization has also partnered with various malls for their Low-Cost Kapon Program and has established a Free Kapon program with local government units. These efforts are part of their mission to create a #StrayFreeRabiesFreePhilippines by 2030.
Ortiz expresses gratitude for the support from local governments, such as their collaboration with Mayor Rivera of San Mateo, Rizal. This partnership is a testament to the collective effort required to advance animal welfare.
As they celebrate their second anniversary on September 1, 2024, Biyaya Animal Care remains dedicated to creating a compassionate society where both humans and animals can thrive. Their ongoing commitment to rescue, rehabilitation, community education, and advocacy continues to inspire positive change in the Philippines.
