With a diverse portfolio that includes roles as an athlete, actor, dancer, singer, model, and host, Enchong Dee has consistently showcased his versatility.
At the Spotlight press conference on July 12 at Coffee Project in Wil Tower Mall, Quezon City, the actor shared an important career achievement. His role as Padre Jacinto Zamora in GomBurZa (2023) got him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2024 FAMAS Awards and won him the Best Supporting Actor award at the 7th Eddys (Entertainment Editor’s Choice Awards).
Enchong expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Being part of GomBurZa is already such a win. So many good things have followed after GomBurZa… From Cedrick Juan, to Tito Dante Rivero, to Piolo Pascual, to myself… It’s a triumph in itself.”
He thanked the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) for their recognition, saying it’s a big honor because they help promote and support projects.
“Winning doesn’t guarantee future success, so I need to keep working hard. I’m really grateful to the SPEEd members for motivating me to do my best in upcoming projects,” he said.
Enchong has had memorable roles in movies like Katorse (2009), Magkaribal (2010), Ina, Kapatid, Anak (2012), and Four Sisters and a Wedding (2013). He also hinted at a new role that will push him further.
“It’s a surprising kontrabida role with a bit of gore that will help me grow as an actor,” he shared. In addition to his acting career, Enchong has made significant strides in music. He released two albums under Star Music: Enchong Dee (2014) and EDM (Enchong Dee Moves)/Hanggang Dito Nalang (2016).
Looking ahead, the 35-year-old actor is excited about the new season of PBB.
“I’m as excited as the new housemates. The family we built during the last season was genuine. We met at each other’s homes and developed real connections,” he said adding that he is also exploring international opportunities, naming dream collaborations with Timothée Chalamet and Anya Taylor-Joy as goals. “I hope to learn and grow from working with artists in the same age range.”
