Bank of the Philippine Islands reminded its clients about the mandatory implementation of the updated check design as prescribed by the Philippine Clearing House Corp.
It said that only updated checks would be accepted for clearing starting May 1, 2024.

BPI said all its checkbooks released starting June 2020 are compliant with the updated check design as seen below.
The bank said old-format checks dated April 30, 2024 or earlier can still be honored for deposit or encashment on or before the 180th day from the date of issuance. “Otherwise, it will be considered stale,” it said.
