There are a few things some of us need to live a happy life. Well, that’s not entirely true, but what I can tell you is that some things make many of my days a little brighter and happier: a nice cup of coffee, a good run or exercise, and a commune with nature.
If you are like me, then you will enjoy the lifestyle that Acqua Private Residences, a six-tower residential development in Mandaluyong City, offers.
Picture this: you wake up greeted by your cat with the sun rays streaming through your blinds. You water the thriving houseplants on your balcony, many of which have been with you for years.
You have enough time for a 30-minute exercise before your workday begins, so you head to the gym within your building. Or, on second thought, you feel like greeting some friends at the sprawling central gym located at the Pebble Clubhouse, which not only houses the central amenities but also is home to restaurants, a convenience store, a supermarket, a derma clinic, and a premium spa/massage place among the commercial establishments within this urban development.
After a quick exercise, you consider making yourself some coffee but decide instead to get your much-needed caffeine fix at the café right inside CrossFit Ethos on the ground level of the Pebble. Yes, you got that right—there’s a café inside this CrossFit gym that offers courses for pros and beginners, and by the way, you don’t have to be an Acqua Residences dweller to sign up.
After a long and productive day at work, you and your friends have dinner at a nearby mall, which is just a stone’s throw away from where you live. Just about perfect, you think, as you have been meaning to take an easy walk home via the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge.
You have been seeing amazing evening shots posted on social media taken from the bridge featuring the Acqua development, the revitalized river, and the beautiful full moon above. The weather has been temperate lately, and the moon has been shining beautifully the past few nights, with an early evening breeze making it a nice evening walk.
From the bridge, which has ample space for pedestrians, you notice how the number of people taking walks or running in the area has increased, perhaps feeling safer as just ahead are a few road patrollers and a couple of police guards on duty. You take the newly opened temporary pedestrian access to get inside the Acqua development, passing through the soon-to-be-finished Nuliv Townvillas at Acqua.
The guard on duty acknowledges you. Instead of heading straight to your abode, you decide to cover more steps and stroll at the Eden Garden on the 6th floor of the condominium towers. The walkways are lit up and quiet, save for the meowing of the community cats who have made their home in the garden. The moon illuminates the open space, and you take a deep breath and enjoy the moment.
You like taking walks in Eden during the daytime as the sight of vibrant greens is relaxing and soothing to the soul. But this is a good communion with nature. On your watch, it’s only 9:30 p.m., so the gates leading to the Riverwalk from the Pebble would still be open. So you head there, listening to your favorite playlist via your earphones.
The evening breeze is nice, and you see your neighbors taking a stroll or walking their dogs. Some are seated on the concrete bench facing the river. The lights are ample. It is a good day, you say to yourself. And you feel comforted that the next day when you wake up, is another opportunity to enjoy a day like this.
