American singer-songwriter and global pop sensation Taylor Swift filed a new trademark for TAYLOR-CON with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) last January 27.

Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, has posted about it on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter. He said that the filing claims that Swift was planning to launch a TAYLOR-CON event that will be offering a meet up for fans as well as educational programs and workshops surrounding music and entertainment.

The pop star icon has been known to register trademarks since 2007, with the very first mark she had registered being simply, “Taylor Swift.”

Swift’s trademarks are registered under the ownership of the TAS Rights Management, LLC.

“Taylor Swift and her team have carefully cultivated and protected an expansive brand comprising a variety of trademarks,” said Michael Kondoudis, another trademark attorney.

“Swift has protected her brand and prevented others from using her work without permission. As a result, she has maintained control over her image and her career, cementing her place as one of the top recording artists in the world,” he said further.

Swift is a pop star known for her songwriting, which has garnered her multiple accolades throughout her career, especially from revered awarding bodies like the Grammy Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, among many others.

She is currently on her Eras Tour which features songs from her 10 studio albums, which became the highest-grossing tour in history. Its concert film also became the highest-grossing concert film, which was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

Swift is set to continue her record-breaking tour, kicking off its International leg at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, where she will be performing from February 7 until February 10. As of writing, the last date for the tour will be on December 8 at the BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
