PAL to resume daily Manila-Dipolog flights

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced it will resume flight services to and from Dipolog City on Jan. 1.

“Effective January 1, 2024, we will operate our full schedule of Airbus jet services to and from Dipolog City following the completion of repair work on the Dipolog Airport runway,” the airline management stated in its advisory.

Beginning next month, PAL will operate flights PR 2557 / 2558 Manila-Dipolog-Manila daily Flight PR 2557 is scheduled to depart the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 05:15 a.m., arriving in Dipolog at 06:45 a.m.

Flight PR 2558, on the other hand, will be leaving Dipolog at 07:30 a.m., and arriving in Manila at 09:00 a.m.

“With the restoration of jet flights from Manila in January, we will no longer operate the supplementary Cebu-Dipolog-Cebu flights beyond Dec. 31, 2023,” the PAL management stated.

On Dec. 18, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) also resumed the Manila-Dipolog jet operations.

CEB was able to complete a thorough and satisfactory safety assessment of the runway at the Dipolog airport following examinations and repairs performed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

“The additional flights that we have been flying to and from Pagadian to serve the Dipolog passengers will cease at the same time as the direct service to Dipolog recommences,” it stated.

“Safety is our utmost priority and CEB deemed it entirely necessary to examine the runway and its repairs prior to recommencing operations.”
