Targets availability by Q1 2024
SAIC Motor Philippines, the official distributor of MG vehicles in the country, has officially announced the upcoming arrival of the much-anticipated MG Cyberster, an electrified roadster set to hit Philippine roads in the first half of 2024.
The revelation came during a preview event led by SAIC Motor Philippines President Felix Jiang.
Although specific details about the model were not disclosed during the preview, some potential specifications have been speculated upon. The MG Cyberster, already making waves abroad, is expected to feature dual electric motors capable of delivering a maximum of 544 horsepower and 725 Newton-meters of torque. This impressive power enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a mere 3.2 seconds.
Notably, MG recently introduced the Cyberster in Thailand, where its distributor revealed a 77-kilowatt-hour battery option. The vehicle is equipped with independent double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, ensuring a smooth and dynamic driving experience.
Despite the lack of official pricing details from SAIC Motor Philippines, speculations suggest that the Cyberster in the Philippines could potentially be priced within the sub-P4 million range.
The anticipation surrounding the MG Cyberster’s arrival reflects the growing interest in electric vehicles in the Philippine market. As SAIC Motor Philippines prepares for the official launch within the first half of 2024, automotive enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing the cutting-edge technology and performance that the MG Cyberster promises to bring to the local automotive landscape.
