Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) on Friday asked its clients to switch to its new app, as the old one will be deactivated soon.
“To enjoy uninterrupted mobile banking, current users of the old app must move to the new Metrobank app by Nov. 21, 2023,” it said in an advisory.
“With the new Metrobank app, you can enjoy smart, simple and secure banking in your hands – with features that anticipate your needs, simpler transactions that you can complete in a few taps and enhanced security features to keep your money safe,” the bank said.
It said that with the new app, clients could conveniently send money and withdraw from their account, do cardless withdrawals at Metrobank and PSBank ATMs, instantly send and receive money to other banks and e-wallets via QR and enjoy waived Instapay fees when transferring up to P1,000 to other banks and e-wallets until the end of the year.
It also allows them to activate Metrobank credit card, transfer money using credit card as source via PayNow and convert credit card limit to cash via the Cash2Go service.
The app has personalization features such as a customizable dashboard and switching from light mode to dark mode to conserve battery life.
“Soon, you’ll also get to enjoy features that let you send funds to loved ones with no bank or e-wallet accounts, for pick-up at key remittance centers nationwide via the cash pick-up service and do more secure transactions with the new AppKey feature,” the bank said.
