Tiger Media Network (TMN), the official broadcasting arm of the University of Santo Tomas operating under the Communications Bureau, re-launched its two stations, UST Tiger TV and UST Tiger Radio, in the event “Roaring into the Future: Getting to Know TMN” where it formally turned on its campus TV sets on Friday, September 15, at the UST Communications Bureau to air fresh content for the new academic year.

This event served as a dynamic platform to re-introduce TMN and showcase its commitment to

deliver stories for and by the Thomasian community with new content and shows, such as Tiger Rush and The Assignment, as well as its regular shows, such as Lifeline, Culture Shock, and The Frontrunners.

The University Secretary-General Fr. Louie R. Coronel, O.P. led the ceremonial back-to-air launch of the campus television sets around the campus, along with UST Communications Bureau Director Philippe Jose Hernadez, MEng and Assistant Director Faye Martel-Abugan, MA.

“Our vision extends beyond simply informing the UST community; it aspires to contribute to a well-informed society. We don’t limit ourselves to producing content exclusively for Thomasians or about Thomasians; rather, we strive to enrich society’s knowledge with the valuable expertise that Thomasians bring to the table,” TMN adviser Asst. Director Martel-Abugan said.

Apart from this, the event also featured open-house activities, including a tour of the state-of-the-art broadcasting facilities of the Bureau as well as #ExperienceTMN at its newest studio where guests got the chance to be a talent by trying out prepared sample spiels.

Various stakeholders, such as the University deans of different faculties, colleges, and institutes, student organizations and councils, media partners, and brand sponsors attended the open-house launch.

“Roaring into the Future: Getting to Know TMN” is a rallying call to the Thomasian community, inviting students, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders to come together and collaborate on fresh content.

Powered by its student volunteers, TMN’s unwavering commitment to capturing the essence of Thomasian life and culture through compelling storytelling will be at the forefront of this event.
