Media company ABS-CBN has released an official statement in response to the suspension of its noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
The MTRCB’s ruling specifies that the suspension will last for a duration of 12 days from the finality of the decision.
In a statement sent to Manila Standard Entertainemnt, ABS-CBN expressed its intention to submit a Motion for Reconsideration, firmly maintaining that there was no violation of pertinent law in the program’s content.
“We have received the ruling from the MTRCB, indicating that ‘It’s Showtime’ will be suspended for a duration of 12 days from finality of the decision. We will submit a Motion for Reconsideration as we humbly maintain that there was no violation of pertinent law,” the statement said.
ABS-CBN also emphasized its commitment to collaborate with the MTRCB to ensure that “It’s Showtime” can continue to bring joy and entertainment to its loyal noontime viewers.
The network also extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Madlang People for their unwavering love and support for “It’s Showtime.”

MTRCB’s decision comes in response to numerous complaints from viewers regarding the show’s allegedly indecent content during its July 25, 2023 episode, specifically in the segment titled “Isip Bata.”
The MTRCB’s Hearing and Adjudication Committee thoroughly examined the complaints and conducted a procedural process, during which the respondents were required to submit their position papers.
