According to the local chief executive, the new college is only for the youth of Calauan , to give them the opportunity to study for free with its initial offerings of Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Midwifery.

“Although there is a university here in our town, it’s not just for Calaueño children. We persisted in having it in our town for our youth who don’t have the ability to study in college, here in our CCC it’s free,” Mayor Caratihan said.

The operation of CCC is based on Municipal Ordinance no. 11-8-2023 approved by the Sangguniang Bayan on May 22, 2023 under Presiding Officer and Vice Mayor Sanchez.

Dr. Jovellano said there are initially 15 volunteer faculty who will teach the freshmen students of CCC, including the local chief executive, who has volunteered to teach the students of Calauan in its 2-storey, 4-classroom building.

Caratihan added that free WiFi is ready for the school along with other public schools in Calauan, which extends to the public places for students to use in their lessons and research.

The mayor also stated that CCC has another proposed building to be built on the NHA property in Barangay Sto. Tomas, Highway road with 1,000 square meters, which has been allocated P20-million for its construction.

Thelma Gunida, 34, from Barangay Lamot 2, who is enrolled in the Midwifery course; Nina Pastor Barriga, 17, from Barangay Dayap who enrolled in the Public Administration course; and Alyssa Lanip, 19. from Barangay San Isidro, who is taking up Public Administration, which according to her is a good opportunity to study college for free.
