Local officials in Taguig welcomed a delegation from Goyang City Council, South Korea who visited the city to collaborate on various projects, including culture, art, education, tourism, sports, and agriculture.
Mayor Laarni Cayetano and Mr. Youngsik Kim, Chairman of Goyang City Council and Head of Delegation, also signed a Letter of Intent for Friendship and Cooperation between the City of Taguig and Goyang City.
The event was held at the Kalayaan Hall of Taguig Satellite Office in SM Aura on Tuesday.
The Letter outlined the areas of cooperation between the two cities and highlighted the intention to collaborate in various fields. Both parties are committed to fostering sustainable development and seeking innovative solutions to common challenges.
Mayor Cayetano expressed her gratitude to the delegation and underscored the power of unity and cooperation in transcending barriers.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Goyang City Council for gracing us with their presence. Your willingness to explore new horizons and foster ties of friendship demonstrates the power of unity and cooperation,” she said.
“Our cities may be separated by distance, language, and culture, but as we’ve come to realize, we are bound by a common desire for progress, compassion, and a brighter future for our citizens,” she added.
Mr. Youngsik Kim reciprocated the sentiment and acknowledged the importance of strengthening international bonds.
“I very much appreciate Mayor Lani Cayetano, Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, and other councilors for their warm welcome to the delegation of Goyang City Council and for making this ceremony possible… Based on our friendship and trust, I want to pioneer and develop the year of globalization together through exchange activities in various fields such as culture, tourism, economy, education, and industry,” Mr. Kim said.
The event not only celebrated the unique cultures of both cities but also provided a glimpse of a promising future where cooperation and friendship transcend borders. Taguig and Goyang are now set to embark on a journey of shared growth, prosperity, and enduring friendship.
