The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) has released the photo of the alleged gunman in the fatal shooting of radio broadcaster Cresenciano Aldevino ‘Cris’ Bundoquin.

Oriental Mindoro police director, P/Col. Samuel Delorino said murder and attempted murder cases have been filed against Isabelo Lopez Bautista.

The pictures of Bautista received by the PTFoMS from several independent sources, including his screenshot photo in his Facebook account before it was deactivated, also show him to be the same person identified by John Mar, Bundoquin’s son. Vince Lopez

The cases are docketed under NPS-IV-13-INV-23F-00130, have been finally filed before the Calapan City Regional Trial Court, after nearly a week of “evaluation” by the attending prosecutor, with Francia Bundoquin, the widow, and John Mar, as private complainants.

The PTFoMS said it would like to commend the members of the press, especially those based in Mindoro, and other concerned individuals who responded to the call for help and cooperation in solving the murder case by doing their own separate interviews and research and providing the task force with what they have uncovered.

“Their efforts are complementing the ongoing investigation and manhunt being done by the SITG Bundoquin of the Philippine National Police leading to this incident’s speedy resolution,” Gutierrez said.

A local member of the press also provided Gutierrez with a series of photographs of Bautista.

The source said Bautista forwarded the pictures to debunk the police’s claim that he was ‘hurt’ after their getaway motorcycle crashed at a road barrier during their escape that killed his partner-in-crime, Narciso Ignacio Guntan.

“He does not even seem to look like a man on the run; he is not looking haggard, under stress or even lacking in food and there is no visible wound in his body.” the PTFoMS official said.

“In this regard, we are also warning all those harboring Bautista that they too, shall suffer the full force of the law,” Gutierrez added.

“But of course, the best course for Bautista is to surrender, face the consequences of his action and reveal everything he knows. All his rights as an accused shall be accorded to him under the law,” he added.

The DOJ meanwhile deemed it best to allow the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a parallel investigation of the said murder case.

“Thus, Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla deemed it best to allow the NBI to conduct a parallel probe for us to get a clear picture of what happened and who could have ‘masterminded’ the attack on Bundoquin,” Gutierrez said.

“No one should take this determination lightly,” Gutierrez stressed.
