Many artists discovered over the years that their passion for creating awe-inspiring pieces could become lucrative and a stepping stone to achieving their primary life goals.
Edmar C. Casinillo, a 19-year-old architecture student from Cagayan State University-Carig Campus, uses his creative talents to hone his skills in masterfully creating images to support his family and dreams.
“Since I was a child, I have loved the arts, I draw anime, and I also do lettering. But when I was already in Grade 8, that was the time that I started to draw portraits and paintings,” he shared.
From then, art became a vital part of Casinillo’s life because it reinforced his studies in architecture and became a source of income that allowed him to share his talents with others while letting others appreciate what local young artists like him could do.
He draws inspiration from his family as he hopes to support his family through the arts and eventually become a renowned artist and architect someday.
“If I am going to describe my art style, it is very unique compared to others. It’s not that easy, but it’s not that hard also to make an art like mine,” he said.
Casinillo has had his fair share of ups and downs in being an artist, but he doesn’t let that discourage him from doing what he loves. Instead, he encourages other artists like him to keep going and further their craft.
“Hard work and perseverance is the key to success. Don’t give up or quit–just enjoy making art because you’re a great artist,” he said.
