The Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan was a sea of black and pink outfits as Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa performed for their Filipino fans again on Saturday for Day 1 of Blackpink World Tour [Born Pink] Manila (Bulacan).
The group behind hits “Ice Cream,” “How You Like That,” and “Shut Down,” among others, performed in the country for the first time since its 2019 In Your Area tour. In turn, Blinks spent their “best weekend ever” filling up the world’s largest indoor arena maximum seating capacity of 55,000
Blackpink opened the show with fireworks as they performed “How You Like That” and followed with “Pretty Savage” and “Whistle.”
Making their fans feel more connected to them despite the massive size of the venue, Blackpink went on to talk to the hyped-up crowd.
“We are excited to be back here,” said Lisa.
“I think this is one of the loudest crowds,” said Rosé.
The group also performed “Kill This Love,” “Crazy Over You,” “Playing With Fire,” and “Tally.” One of the crowd favorites, of course, was “Pink Venom.”
For the following set, Jisoo, who will release a solo album and a single “Flower” on March 31, performed a cover of Camila Cabello’s “Liar.”
Meanwhile, Jennie performed her yet-to-be-released solo song “You and Me.”
Rosé also wowed the crowd with two of her solo songs, “Hard To Love,” and “On The Ground” while Lisa performed “LALISA” and “Money.”
The K-Pop ground continued to send the crowd into a rabid frenzy as they performed “Shutdown,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “Forever Young.”
For the encore set, the quartet performed “Yeah Yeah Yeah,” “Stay,” and “As If It’s Your Last.”
“I’m pretty sure the Philippines did not forget about us,” said Rosé.
There is no doubt that this was one of the year’s most awaited concerts. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are not only popular artists as a group and individually, they are also ambassadors for some of the world’s luxury fashion houses. Their popularity is so mainstream that they’re loved by kids and adults alike.
It is also worth noting that Blackpink is the first K-pop group to hold a two-day concert in the Philippine Arena. Organized by Live Nation Philippines, the K-pop girl group’s highly anticipated concert brought together fans from different parts of the Philippines and even the world.
