European Investors commit their support to DOTr Sec. Bautista to ‘Build Better More’

During a recent presentation, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista invited European companies to invest in the Philippines and support the initiatives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to create new jobs and assist the government in its efforts to rebuild the economy, which still suffers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Having built his reputation by restructuring Philippine Airlines and making it a 4-star airline, Sec. Bautista explained that his department covers aviation, maritime, railways, and roads, and that the current administration aims to do its best but will need foreign investors and foreign know-how to be able to reach its goals.

This message was well received by the audience and “Foreign investors are ready to assist and to do business because the Philippines are ready and open again under its newly elected government” as Alfred Reiterer, Chairman of Foreign Investors Advisory Group concluded.

Recently, President Marcos attended the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit in Brussels, where the ASEAN-EU Plan of Action for 2023 to 2027 was adopted and a solution regarding the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) accreditation was promised.
