Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon believes that he still has a lot left in his gas tank, and he wants to prove that by tidying up loose ends.
That means he’s eyeing yet another showdown with old rival Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes, a man he’s already faced four times in his career.
In that stretch, Belingon lost three, with the third one being a disqualification that he continues to dispute.
While the numbers don’t favor “The Silencer,” it’s worth noting that it was the Filipino who ended the Brazilian’s seven year, 14-match unbeaten run.
“Of course if given the chance, I want to face Bibiano again,” Belingon said.
“We’ve competed against each other many times in the past, and I think a fifth match between the two of us would be interesting—fans would still love to see that.”
Another loss that he wants to take back is the one he picked up from current #3-ranked bantamweight “Pretty Boy” Kwon Won Il, who finished him with devastating body shots.
Belingon feels like he could have given much more in that match if he came in 100 percent, but he doesn’t want to take anything away from Kwon’s win, noting that the South Korean was the better man that night.
“Aside from Bibiano, I want a rematch with Kwon. Our last fight didn’t really go my way. I got injured, but I don’t want to use that as an excuse. I want that rematch with Kwon as well,” Belingon said.
But if given the choice between the two, Belingon won’t think twice.
“I’d like it more if it’s Bibiano,” he said. “I want one last dance with him.”
