PH golfers hold practice at Vietnam SEAG venue

The Philippine national golfers went to Hanoi for a familiarization trip ahead of the 31st Southeast Asian Games set next month in the Vietnam capital.

The team arrived in Hanoi over the weekend and tested the fairways beginning Monday at the Heron Lake Golf and Resort in Hanoi.

According to the statement of the National Golf Association of the Philippines, all but one of the seven members of the golf squad joined the trip “for a chance to sample and get acquainted with the intricacies of the 6,883-yard course which is fairly young as it opened only 12 years ago.”

“It’s a resort-type course with the feels of Mount Malarayat back home,” said national coach Miko Alejandro in describing the site of the golf competitions from May 13-18.
