Michelle Arceo named first runner up in inaugural Miss Environment International 

The Philippines’ Michelle Arceo came short of winning the inaugural Miss Environment International 2022 finishing as first runner-up (Miss Ecosystem) to Kayra Wouters of Belgium during the coronation night held in Mumbai, India, on Saturday.

The 23-year-old California, USA-born model also won Best in Environmental Video and Best in National Costume, a Palawan deep blue sea inspired creation by Louis Pangilinan.

Miss South Sudan Amelia Sky (Miss Biodiversity) and Miss Peru Mariel Zuñiga Barreda (Miss Aqua) were named 2nd and 3rd runners up, respectively, while Miss Zimbabwe Jemina Mandemwa (Miss Fauna) finished as 4th runner up.

Arceo was GMA-7’s “Wowowin’s Gandang Filipina 2017 winner and Miss BodyCon 2019. She’s one of the winners of Miss World Philippines 2021 and trained under Kagandahan Flores Camp headed by Rodgil Flores.

Miss Environment International brings together representatives from different continents, cultures, and traditions around the world with the objective to promote the importance of environmental conservation.
