Spring has just begun and H&M has already made headlines with an all-new lineup of Tropical Essentials. Set in three parts and accumulating over 180 pieces for this season and beyond, this may just be the fashion brand’s biggest local campaign yet, given the three new ambassadors announced alongside it. One of them, of course, is no other than Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
The brand cited passion as the inspiration for the whole campaign: showcasing a collection of great passion stories from their ambassadresses in order to inspire others to take action toward the things that move them. In this first leg of the collection, Catriona wonderfully interprets the definition of her passion: a passion that blooms.
In H&M’s latest photos and videos, Gray takes center stage in the outskirts of Nueva Ecija. She’s perfectly set among a field of flowers on a slow afternoon, complementing her wardrobe of matching pinks, botanical prints, and flowy textiles. The energy is romantic, relaxed, captivating–which so happens to also be the perfect way to describe the H&M resort wear that she’s dressed in.
Gray’s personal advocacy has always been about uplifting local communities, hence a passion that blooms. Moreover, winning the Miss Universe title has since allowed her a larger platform to promote her cause. Among these, she now serves as a representative to promote Filipino-made products, opening up conversations and organizing initiatives to support the skills and livelihood of her kababayans. In fact, her shoot being located in Nueva Ecija is symbolic of her support for their local Talavera ARTists guild: an organization that showcases the different art mediums of creatives from the municipality.
Overall, she’s managed to encourage many talented and hardworking Filipinos to bring out the best versions of themselves through the things they create.
