Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s husband lawyer Manases “Mans” Carpio on Monday urged voters in Carmen, North Cotabato to support his wife, who is seeking the vice presidency, and party standard-bearer former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Carpio

Carpio made the appeal during a jampacked rally in front of Carmen municipal hall organized by Vice Gov. Lala Taliño-Mendoza who is eyeing a comeback as province’s governor in the coming poll and her husband Rep. Democrito Mendoza of party-list group Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP).

It was the first time Carpio joined his wife in the campaign. They brought with them her their two children, Mateo Lucas or Stingray and Marko Digong or Stone Fish.

From North Cotabato, Marcos and Duterte had huge rallies in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat.

Carpio said the nation needs the UniTeam tandem to unite the nation after the May elections.

He said the electoral contest has grouped Filipinos into several colors, including green, red, pink, and blue.

“After ng May 9 election, wala na tayong color, isang color na lang, white, which stands for unity,” Carpio added, reminding the people to vote for Mayor Sara for vice president who is number 4 on the ballot; Bongbong Marcos for president, number 7 on the ballot, and also  Lala Taliño Mendoza for governor of North Cotabato, number 4 on the ballot. (After the May 9 election, there will only be one political color—white, which stands for unity….We’ll rise together, let’s love the Philipines).

Sara Duterte meanwhile has once again brushed aside the calls on voters to pair her up with another presidential bet during the May 9 polls.

Duterte was speaking to journalists in Carmen, North Cotabato when she was asked to react on the “RoSa” movement in Misamis Oriental.

The Lakas-CMD chairperson made it clear anew that her partner in the upcoming elections is none other than her fellow UniTeam member, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

I continue to call on everyone to support UniTeam and I continue to respect the choices that are made by my friends and supporters,” Duterte said on Monday after the rally here outside Carmen municipal hall organized by gubernatorial candidate Lala Taliño Mendoza and her husband, Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) party-list Rep. Raymond Mendoza and local candidates of North Cotabato.

The tandem of Duterte and Marcos remain the team to beat as far as the results of pre-election surveys are concerned.

In the same ambush interview, the presidential daughter said that they’re spreading the same message—that of calling for unity among Filipinos—in their effort to further strengthen their chances in the upcoming elections.

“Ang UniTeam, we continue to campaign sa lahat ng areas ng ating bansa and we continue to reach, try to make, we continue to make the message of unity…Patuloy namin na ikinakampanya ang mensahe ng pagkakaisa sa buong bansa,” Duterte said. (The UniTeam will continue to campaign in all areas of the country and we continue to reach, try to make, we continue to make the message of unity. We will continue to campaign for unity of our country).

Incidentally, March 28 is the 77th birthday of the lady mayor’s father, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

“Happy birthday President Duterte I wish you good health and happiness,” Mayor Duterte said when asked about her birthday wish for her dad.

The Lakas-CMD vice presidential candidate said that she and her father haven’t been able to discuss politics since last year.
