Clark Freeport—A prostitution gang operating inside Clark Freeport was busted by the police following a raid in one of the residences at the Regency Park shortly before midnight Tuesday, Clark Development Corp. and police authorities said.
A Vietnamese girl, apparently being offered to foreigner clients as sex partner, was rescued.
Several other compatriots and Chinese women held in one room of the house were saved by the raiding team, said Police Brig. General Rhodel Sermonia, Central Luzon police director.
Sermonia identified the Vietnamese lady as Nguyen Thi Trinh.
He said six other Vietnamese and eight Chinese women were found in one room of the residence situated at the boundaries of Abad Santos Avenue and Emilio Aguinaldo streets here.
“A total 14 girls were rescued all in all during the raid,” said Sermonia.
The Central Luzon police director said two members of the prostitution gang were arrested.
They were Lee Pai and Lin Xuan, both Chinese who were allegedly maintainers of the residence. Another suspect, Wen Quiang Zeng, eluded arrest shortly after members of the regional Anti-Trafficking in Person Task Group 3 raided the place.
Sermonia said the raiding team, composed of personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development and RATTG3, swooped down at the Regency Park after receiving reports that a prostitution gang was operating in this free port.
“The foreigner women are sexually exploited by the group by offering them to clients for P4,000 ($80) in exchange of (sic) sex,” said Sermonia in a statement.
Rescued women were brought to DSWD3 office for counselling before they were turned over to the Bureau of Immigration.
Violation of Republic Act 9208 (Sexual Abuse) was filed against the suspects who are detained at the Camp Olivas detention facility.
