GMA Network seals its partnership with Miss Earth as this year’s official broadcast partner of the prestigious beauty pageant for environmental awareness. The contract signing was held on Oct. 8 at GMA Network Center.
Present in the contract signing were GMA First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari Abacan, GMA Program Management Assistant Vice President Mitzi Garcia, Carousel Productions Executive Vice President Lorraine Schuck and Vice President Peachy Veneracion. Joining them were Miss Earth 2018 candidates Miss Earth Canada Jaime Vandenber, Miss Earth Chile Antonia Figueroa, Miss Earth England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown, Miss Earth Hungary Réka Lukács, Miss Earth Mauritius Kirty Sujeewon, and Miss Earth Philippines Silvia Celeste Cortesi.
Abacan is delighted that Miss Earth chose the Kapuso Network to air this prestigious international event on its 18th year.
“We are glad it’s another addition to the pageants that we are actually airing on GMA. The only thing I could tell my new partners is that you are welcome here in GMA and hopefully, this is going to be a very big and very strong partnership,” he said.
Meanwhile, Schuck expressed her excitement for the strong partnership of Miss Earth and GMA, “First, I am so excited that I am now a Kapuso. Of course, we’d like to work with GMA closely. We’ve always been open to suggestions and any collaboration. With this partnership, our main goal is really to make Miss Earth’s advocacy really known to the world.”
She feels positive for this year’s pageant and says that the competition will be bigger, “We are having 90 candidates, and together we will be going around all over the Philippines to promote our eco-tourism. We have a lot in store for the viewers, and we are proud to say that we stay loyal to our advocacy, especially with our stage that is environment-friendly.”
The Philippines will be hosting the Miss Earth 2018 coronation night on Nov. 3, which will be aired on GMA Network on Nov. 4.
