Perfume magnate Joel Cruz has filed a P20-million libel suit against Brunei-based trader Kathy Dupaya over allegations that he sent her expired products.
Dupaya also alleged that Cruz lacked proper government documents, a charge Cruz denied.
Accompanied by his lawyer, Cruz, laughed off Dupaya’s claim, saying that he does business with multi-millionaires abroad so he had very little reason to personally seek out Dupaya.
He added that it was Dupaya who was the more excited when they were first introduced by a mutual friend.
Cruz also took exception on allegations that he sells expired products. He also junked Dupaya’s claim that she had received P2 million worth of products from him, when in fact she only ordered less than P600,000. He brought receipts to support this.
