Allianz National Youth Futsal finals set Sunday

Sixteen teams are seeing action in the Allianz National Youth Futsal Invitational Finals this Sunday at the Laguna Sports Complex in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Squads that have qualified for the 14-under and 16-under age brackets for both boys and girls are taking part.

The tournament is staged by Allianz PNB Life, Inc., in partnership with the Henry V. Moran Foundation and in coordination with the Philippine Football Federation.

Aiming to promote youth and sports development in the country, Rei Abrazaldo,  Allianz  Branding Communications and Digital Director, said they are very excited to announce the Allianz Junior Football Camp Team Pinas Selection as eight deserving kids will be chosen from this tournament  to participate in the AJFC in Thailand this July.

“From here, three will be selected to go to Munich in September to train under FC Bayern coaches,” said Rei Abrazaldo, Allianz  Branding Communications and Digital Director.

Competing in the 14U Boys are Laguna FA, Tuloy sa Don Bosco, PAREF Westbridge FC (Iloilo) and Dipolog FC.

Listed in the 14U Girls are Laguna FA, Tuloy sa Don Bosco, Davao RFA and USPF-Cebu.

In the 16U Boys, there’s Laguna FA, Global FC/Pilipinas Dragons, Jaro FC (Iloilo) and Davao RFA, while for the 16U Girls, competing are Laguna FA, Cordillera Binnadang FC, Pontevedra FC (Negros Occidental) and ZANDIFA Watashi (Dipolog).

Before the awarding, there will be an exhibition game between the former National Futsal Team players (men and women) and a select team of futsal players from Laguna Footbal Association.

Some members of the futsal team are Chieffy Caligdong, former Azkals Captain and Ten Outsatnding Young Men Awardee, and members of the Philippine National Women’s Team bagged the bronze in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games.
