No team was able to shoot better than 37 percent from the field with the most important stats posted by Brandon Matthew Bates, who came away with a double-double performance of 11 points and 16 rebounds.

But Bates’ effort wasn’t enough to carry the Green Archers to victory as St. Clare was able to hold its opponent to just 11 markers in the fourth period.

Rubio keyed a 9-2 run by Sta. Clare to turn a 49-47 lead to a 59-48 advantage.

In the Under-19 division, Big Baller Club walloped CBDL-La Salle Araneta University, 65-45.

Albert Bordeos came away with 13 markers to pace Big Baller Club to an easy win in this tournament presented by Got Skills and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and supported by BTV, Gerry’s Grill, LGR, Clyde, FMR, and Gatorade.

Don Bosco Technical Institute edged Passion Basketball, 56-52, in their under-12 division match.

Three players led scoring honors for the Bosconians—Christian Dave Anicete, Enrico Joaquin Arugay and Andrei Miguel Gildore, who all tallied 14 markers.

But it was Dustin Paulino, who scored the go-ahead basket in the last 36 seconds that helped Don Bosco in escaping with the win.
