SkyJet Airlines’ new route

Skyjet Airlines, Manila’s boutique airline launched its first direct flight from Manila to Camiguin island in December 2017 with regular flights in February.

Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo graced the inaugural flight saying it will boost the tourism in the area.

Camiguin, also known as the island born of fire, has captured the attention of netizens when the Camiguin Provincial Tourism Council released a viral promotional video featuring the island’s indescribable splendor.

Hitting more than a million views after its release, the island is now bound to become a top destination in the country.

“We will continue with our mission of serving the underserved local destinations and exploring the unexplored islands in the Philippines!” said Dino Reyes-Chua, president of SkyJet Airlines.

“No more stopovers in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.  Camiguin will just be 60 minutes away from Manila,” said Congressman XJ Romualdo of the lone District of Camiguin.

Recently, newly crowned Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa and her predecessor Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, together with 14 other beauties, toured the Philippines. Other destinations included in their tour were Batanes and Bohol.

SkyJet Airlines flies daily and direct from Manila to Batanes, Siargao, Coron, Palawan and Boracay with its fleet of 90-seater British Aerospace Jets, the official aircraft of Queen Elizabeth and the British Royal Family.
