ORMOC CITY—SM Foundation, through its Operation: Tulong Express teams and volunteers, recently distributed relief goods to families affected by Typhoon “Urduja” in Liloan, Ormoc, Barangays 63 and 87 in Tacloban, and in Biliran.
The relief goods, called “kalinga packs” (care packs) were given to 1,190 families in Ormoc and 1,390 families in Tacloban City. Meanwhile, two thousand relief packs are in transit to Biliran.
The relief goods were sourced and prepared by SM Supermarkets and Stores near the area to facilitate speedy distribution.
Volunteers from SM City Tacloban and SM Ormoc headed by Marlon Tan and Jane Losaria, respectively, together with SM Savemore’s Rod Robles were on hand to help in the distribution.
Operation: Tulong Express is SM Foundation’s immediate response to help victims of calamities and disasters.
