THE Mabuhay Miles Elite Invitational Golf Tournament holds its Silver (25th) edition on Nov. 18 at the Orchard Golf and Country Club, with participants coming from Philippine Airline’s Mabuhay Mile Elite, Premier Elite and Million Elite members.
Players that will be divided based on their handicap will be playing on a 36-hole golf course located in Dasmarinas, Cavite, split into two courses. These are the Palmer and Player courses, designed by Arnold Palmer and Gary Player, respectively.
There will also be nine categories to be launched in the tournament, namely Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, Ladies, Seniors, Guest, Lowest Gross and Overall Net Champions.
The 18-hole stroke play event will be played in line with the Rules of Golf by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews and the Local Rules from the Orchard Golf Club.
Major sponsors and partners for this year’s tournament include Toyota, Century Park Hotel, Pan Pacific Hotel, Mastercard, Omnipay, Petron, PNB, Boeing and PNB Gen Insurers.
Last year’s winners were Jenz Vincent Tecson, Bernabe Punsalan, Louis Bartolome Borja, Joseph Owen Fulo, Elson Jose Dagondon, Emeterio Dikitanan, Christine Marie Valdehueza, Tranquilino Magpantay, Rodrigo Perez and Vicente Solon.
The annual tournament first took off in 1992 with the name “PAL Mabuhay Club Invitational Golf Tournament” and was renamed in 2002 as “Mabuhay Miles Elite Invitational Golf Tournament”.
