BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The provincial government here has allotted P17 million for the construction of another hospital in Bagabag town.
Gov. Carlos Padilla said the fund is part of the P30-million capital outlay budget set aside for the construction of health centers by the provincial government since last year to ensure the realization of Bagabag Infirmary Hospital along the national highway in barangay Baretbet in Bagabag town, another local government unit-managed hospital in the province.
“The construction of another hospital in the province’s northern part will bring the much – needed medical services closer to our villagers,” Padilla said.
He said the fund will be used for the construction of the hospital building and other required infrastructure facilities.
Padilla said they are just waiting for the permit to construct requirement from the Department of Health to start the construction of the additional medical facility in the province this year.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, Provincial Integrated Health Officer said the DoH is also set to provide funding assistance for the hospital’s internal medical facilities and equipment.
“This will be an infirmary hospital which will provide hospital services to our villagers in our province’s northern portion,” he said.
Galapon said the hospital will also boost the health services of the DoH and concerned local government units considering the growing number and proximity of patients from northern towns needing hospital services.
“This will also unclog hospitals of the growing number of patients needing medical treatment, especially during peak hospital season. Most of our hospitals here need to accommodate patients even beyond their capacity,” he said.
Nueva Vizcaya hosts six public hospitals: the Dupax District Hospital in Dupax del Norte town, the Lt. Tidang Memorial Hospital in upland Kayapa town, Kasibu District Hospital in Kasibu town, Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital in Bambang town, Veterans Regional Hospital in Bayombong town — all located in the province’s southern portion — and the Diadi Emergency Hospital in Diadi town, the first public hospital constructed in Nueva Vizcaya’s northern part.
