SPARTAN Race, the world’s largest obstacle race, has finally arrived in the Philippines after much anticipation since the announcement in 2016.
From the team that brings you Spartan Race Malaysia, the inaugural Spartan Race Philippines kicks off on Sept. 16, with the Spartan Sprint—Spartan’s entry-level course suitable for all fitness ranges. The course will span over 5km and 20 exhilarating obstacles that will put an athlete’s physical and mental endurance and strength to the test.
The categories offered will be the Elite category, wherein the Top 3 Male and Female racers will be competing for prize money, while the Competitive category is designed to bridge the gap between our open and elite categories, with top racers in their age categories competing for sponsor prizes.
Meanwhile, the open category features people of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life as they come together with one collective goal—to cross the Spartan finish line to glory.
“Obstacle Course racing has been on the rise in the Philippines and we’ve seen huge numbers of Filipinos heading overseas to participate in Spartan Races, so we are definitely anticipating a Sold Out first race. I’m very thrilled to announce that we are almost ready to open registration,” Spartan Race Philippines CEO Guenter Taus said.
Private registration will be extended first to those who pre–registered, followed by a public launch in June 2017. More information on pricing and venue will be announced shortly on the official Spartan Race Philippines social platforms and website.
