THE ridership of Pasig River Ferry System has increased by about 40 percent since the Metro Manila Development Authority expanded its operation and offered free shuttle rides at the stations of Escolta in Manila and Guadalupe in Makati City.

“The ridership went up to 779 last Saturday from the average of 400 previously. Our goal is 1,000 per day so we are getting there. Thank you to those who take the ride,” said MMDA acting chairman Thomas Orbos.

Orbos attributed the increase to the Free Shuttle Service it launched last week in partnership with Megaworld Corp. for passengers going to and from Divisoria and Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, as well as Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
