Tiktok your way out of traffic, long lines

It's the most wonderful time of the year once again! For Pinoys, Christmastime is about Simbang Gabi, puto bumbong and bibingka, Noche Buena preps, reunions, and… traffic and long lines.

But there’s one app that every Pinoy can tinker with while being stuck inside the UV Express on the way home or while waiting in line for the MRT on the way to work.

A 2017 study said that Filipinos spend an average of one hour and six minutes a day stuck in traffic. That is equivalent to 264 15-second videos enjoyed in one sitting. For creators, that time is enough to whip up at least one short-form video.

TikTok, one of the most downloaded apps in the world in early 2018, offers a wide range of short-form videos, challenges and other fun features that make every idle moment more enjoyable.

As an app powered by artificial intelligence, TikTok provides a variety of special effects and cool features, stickers, and other video editing tools to make it easy for users to create fun short videos, all within the app.

Abundance of content from celebrities and other creatives

TikTok has millions of users worldwide. They include top celebrity creators like Maine Mendoza, Jodi Sta. Maria, and John Arcilla to Jimmy Fallon, BLACKPINK, and Dylan Wang. TikTok is also not short of grassroot content creators. Three of them—Gyl, Issey, and Vishnu—even went to Seoul, South Korea to join the TikTok Gala after they won the 1 Million Audition, along with other top creators from all over the world.

Join exciting challenges

TikTok has always been about bringing people together. The app assigned hashtags to collate videos of each challenge, making it easier for the community to follow similar videos and join the latest craze. TikTok even has dedicated challenges to its Pinoy creators such as #anonggwapo, #gandangganda, and #wagkangtorpe.

Founded in 2016, TikTok is now available in over 150 countries and markets, and in 75 languages. Headquartered in Los Angeles, TikTok has global offices in London, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Jakarta, Mumbai, and Moscow.
