OPPO is giving its Filipino fans another wonderful phone experience as it has officially launched the newest member of its family, the OPPO F7.
Manila Standard was able to test latest OPPO smartphone first-hand. Let’s take a look at its features.
OPPO really knows how to give its loyal consumers the best color and design that perfectly match their lifestyle. In the Philippines, OPPO F7 comes in two colors—Solar Red and Moonlight Silver. If you are a tech enthusiast with a strong character, Solar Red is the perfect partner for you, but if you are the kind with a “chill” personality, then Moonlight Silver is the better one to grab (which I really prefer). Both colors, though, have the kind of metallic glossy look that gives elegance to its overall design.
What I also appreciate with the F5’s successor is that aside from its Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the phone comes with a screen protector and a jelly case that will spare your phone from scratches and smudges.
Of course, with its triple-slot tray on the side, you can put two nano-sized sim cards and a micro-SD.
Back and front shooter
Going to its back part, you will see a medium-sized lens and an oblong-shaped scanner. Do not underestimate them as these are some of the main features of the phone. The F7 is equipped with a 16MP back shooter that will let you take photos like a pro. Camera scenes can be in HDR, Depth Effect, Panorama and Expert mode, the settings of which you can adjust manually.
The thing is, you do not need to install an app to edit your photo to have a blurred background as with Depth Mode, you can adjust the focus to your subject, making the background to be blurred.
OPPO proves that the brand is the real Selfie Expert with its 25MP front camera, to go with its AI technology and Beauty Mode. With the Beauty mode, you can adjust the filter in six levels, thereby giving you a blemish-free and less-pore selfie. The camera has also featured such as the built-in AR stickers, which are perfect for wacky and witty shots with friends.
OPPO F7 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor, with an Android 8.1 Oreo software that gives me a lag-free experience all throughout, even though I was using two or more apps at the same time. Gaming experience is great as it can run heavy games like Sniper 3D (I was not able to try PUBG and Such, though) and Temple Run. Take note that the music and audio add more thrill to your playing experience, and so does viewing movies and answering voice calls. But I would rather suggest the use of its perfectly-matched earphones for a more real-life audio experience.
What I definitely love about OPPO is that it has a built-in Kid Space feature that limits the usage of the phone which is, of course, especially made for young kids who love to use their parent’s phone.
This feature has three main functions: To prevent sending chargeable cellular features, to prohibit system modification, and to prevent addiction. The owner will be able to set the duration period of the kid’s usage that will automatically turn off when the time is up.
When it comes to security, OPPO is surely taking it to the next level as it features three kinds of security: (1) finger scanner at the back which is easy to use, just need to enroll your fingerprint; (2) face recognition which lets you “enroll” your face features and the (3) passcode.
It has also a Private Safe which stores all the files and photos that you don’t want to be deleted. It also features a Harassment and Fraud Prevention that allows you to block phone calls and messages from strangers and unknown people.
Battery, storage, and connectivity
OPPO F7 let me have long-lasting fun experiences as it has an exceptional battery life (3,400 mAh) even when my mobile data is in use. Gaming while listening to music will never be an issue as the battery remains strong after the use of so many apps.
The F7 also has a 4GB RAM with a 64 GB device storage that gives space for your favorite apps.
If you are a tech enthusiast looking for a stylish, on-the-go phone that fits your lifestyle or a simply a “selfie person,” the OPPO F7 is the one for you.
The phone’s price is P17,990, available online and OPPO outlets.
