SAMSUNG officially launched its new flagship product for the ever-innovating S-series, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus, on Friday at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Bonifacio Global City.
Phone and camera lovers, get ready, as this new smartphone from technology giant Samsung has all the qualities of the best possible things you can wish for in a new set of smartphones, with its new and exciting feature of AR emoji and Super slow-mo that will surely become a hit in the market.
Along with the release of the newest face of the smartphone is the introduction of new brand ambassadors, Georgina Wilson and Solenn Heusaff, who took center stage during the recent media conference.
Joining the duo was famous photographer BJ Pascual, who completed the team of key endorsers for the Galaxy S9 and S9+.
Samsung redefined the phone game in the country as it completely changed the landscape of communicating, sharing and experiencing the moment with its huge upgrade for the camera, hence the quote—The Camera, reimagined.

Samsung S9 and S9+ are equipped with the Super Speed Dual Pixel 12 megapixels rear camera with autofocus and optical image stability. However, the Galaxy S9+ takes it to a much higher level with an additional of 12MP rear camera. Both units boast, though, of an 8MP front camera.
Adding to the enhanced camera is the Augmented Reality emoji to further express yourself as you can map out your facial features and use it as an emoji. Finally, a much better slow-mo feature, the Super Slow Mo that can capture up to 960 frames per second—four times slower than standard slow motion—making every video you make much epic and special.
The S9 and S9+ house unparalleled performance with the operating power of 4GB and 6GB ram, respectively, and expandable memory up to 400GB—almost as strong as a computer. The phones are also water and dust resistant and can efficiently power up via wireless charging.
It also offers the Iris, face and fingerprint recognition for much better security.
Taking the cue from the S8 and S8+ series, the new S9 and S9+ has the Super AMOLED infinity display and sport the curved Quad HD screen.
Complimenting the amazing display are the stereo speakers tuned by renowned acoustics’ brand AKG. It also supports the Dolby Atmos, giving that 360-degree sound effect. With the combination of these elements, you can now experience cinematic pleasure on-the-go.
Making the night “super” was the participation of more than 400 dealers and press people to experience the new Galaxy S9 and S9+ firsthand.
The product presentation were lead by Ivan Pua, Product Marketing Head for IT and Mobile and Lea Cua, Product Marketing Manager for Flagship Phones.
The launching/celebration ended on a high note with the performance of famed musician Ely Buendia performing his hits.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be officially released in the market on March 16.
