PH startups eye repeat of last year's success at INNOVEX 2019
During Asia's biggest Information & Communications Technology (ICT) event, a handful of budding Filipino companies are all set to wow the world. Following the successful participation of the Slingshot Philippines Startup Pavilion and Delegation at the Innovex in 2018, the Manila Economics & Cultural Office, and its commercial affairs section, the Philippine Trade & Investment Center in Taipei have helped bring a selection of top-notch and cutting-edge, high innovation start-ups and community builders to represent the Philippine Start-Up Community and Ecosystem at the Slingshot Philippines Pavilion at INNOVEX 2019. A total of 11 Filipino startups and one incubating center have participated in the event which is done at the sidelines of the grand five-day ICT show COMPUTEX Taipei 2019. In cooperation with the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and QBO (pronounced as Ku-Bo) Innovation Hub, the Philippine delegation will once again showcase the best of PH startup technologies and game-changing solutions for the world today. In fact, last year had been a banner year for Pinoy startups in Taiwan, and they want to work on those gains as a springboard for another stellar year. Innovex 2018 saw OneWatt, an innovative startup which develops a technology using Artificial Intelligence and Acoustics to diagnose the health of industrial equipment, won a total of $70,000 (PHP 3.6M) during the Innovex Pitch Competition. Since joining Innovex, the Philippine delegation say, startups have been featured in no less than two mainstream Taiwanese newspapers, on top of Slingshot Philippines sending the best the country can offer to Taiwan's major startup activities. Participating Startups Profiles (Innovex 2019) These start-ups that will show their unique wares to foreign audiences will be Antipara Exploration, Container Living Philippines, Cryptors, Gypsy, Investagrams, JazzyPay, Mober, Qwikwire, Retailgate, Rumarocket and Senti.
