ShopFest: 1st stop for yearend shopping

ALONG with the cold winds, the “Ber” months are also rolling in and that means all-out shopping for gifts as Filipinos start preparing for Christmas and New Year. 

Those who don’t like the hustle and bustle of stores and malls filled to the brim with people can look forward to ShopFest, the year-end shopping festival where customers doesn’t have to leave the comfort of their own homes. It is a four month-long online shopping festival that spans from the Sept. 1, 2018 to the Jan. 3, 2019.

It is organized by ShopBack, an e-commerce website that lets their shoppers get some money back when they buy something there. They also provide discount coupons and voucher codes from 300 affiliate retailers. In the site or app, they also share tips on how to be a smart shopper.

Customers are not the only ones excited for this time of the year, but also retailers and they expressed it in a panel discussion on retail landscape through the lens of industry leaders–Kala, along with Paulo Campos Co-Founder and CEO of ZALORA Philippines, Ysabella Yonathan Country Head of Traveloka Philippines and Cheena Abellon Marketing Head for Food Panda Philippines. They shared their plans and insight for ShopFest.

The festival has six events in total.

The first event is the 9.9 Rewards Day, it is catered for the early birds who want to shop before an avalanche of shoppers start coming. The second event is 10.10 Perfect Ten Sale gives more attention to the perfectionist in people who are on point with their shopping. The third event is the 11.11 Single’s Day focuses on the bargain hunters who camp and wait till the stroke of a specific time to buy products from China Marketplace that come along with sweet deals in their favor. The next episode is the Black Friday Cyber Monday Sales brings in all the sought after international fashion and tech brands. The heat is on with the 12.12 Online Fever offers sizzling deals for electronics, home and living, and fashion. People –especially Filipinos, are known for last minute shopping and the shopping festival is geared up to support them with the Christmas and New Year Sale filled with luxury good to food and groceries.
