Cognizant Wins the International ICT Awards

MANILA, PHILIPPINES—Cognizant has won the Philippines’ coveted International ICT Awards for “Best Company of the Year” and “Best Emerging IT-BPM Company for Healthcare”.

Cognizant was honored with the “Best Company of the Year” award for being an inspirational role model for the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) industry and the wider business community in the Philippines. The “Best Emerging IT-BPM Company for Healthcare” award, introduced this year to recognize emerging sectors within the ICT industry, was presented to Cognizant for the world-class healthcare-related services the company delivers from the Philippines to the international healthcare industry. Cognizant was also named a finalist in the “Best Employer of the Year” category for its human resources practices and policies.

Cognizant was selected for the awards based on a number of attributes: the company’s growth; size, quality, and diversity of clientele; depth and breadth of competencies; and commitment and contribution to talent development, social initiatives, good governance, and promotion of the Philippine IT-BPM industry.
Instituted in 2007 by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), the International ICT Awards honor Philippines-based organizations and individuals for their innovation, excellence, and contribution to the growth of the IT-BPM industry in the Philippines.
Cognizant’s global delivery centers in Manila and Cebu employ more than 4,000 professionals and provide Business Process, IT infrastructure, IT and Consulting services to Cognizant’s global clients across industries such as Banking and Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Technology, Communications, Media and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Retail and Hospitality.
“We are proud to have won these prestigious awards and thank our customers, employees, and all other stakeholders for their support,” said Prabhakar Bisen, Country Head, Cognizant Philippines. “We are delighted at the way Cognizant has grown in the Philippines while engaging actively with the local industry, academe and community. Our operations in the Philippines form an important part of our integrated global delivery capability and growth strategy. We have gained immensely from the rich talent pool and growth ecosystem provided by the Philippines. These awards are a tribute to the confidence our clients continue to place in us, and to the hard work and dedication of our talented workforce in the Philippines. We look forward to growing our presence in the Philippines and further enhancing the country’s IT-BPM reputation globally.”
“It is an honor to become the first recipient of the International ICT Award for the Best Emerging IT-BPM Company for Healthcare,” added Bisen. “The award speaks to the strength of our robust global delivery model, and deep industry, technology, process and regulatory insights that enable us to provide superior value to healthcare clients and help them drive greater efficiencies as well as innovation.”
