December 19 a holiday for Munti centennial

Malacañang has declared a special non-working holiday in Muntinlupa City on Dec. 19, 2017 marking its Centennial Anniversary.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, by authority of President Rodrigo Duterte, signed on Oct. 4 Proclamation No. 327 declaring the non-working day.

The holiday was declared “to give Muntinlupa residents the opportunity to commemorate the said event,” the proclamation read.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Muntinlupa be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” Medialdea said.

Events slated in Muntinlupa on Dec. 19 include a Thanksgiving Mass at Muntinlupa City Hall Grounds in Putatan and a Centennial Festival at Muntinlupa Sports Complex in Tunasan.
