New cops in Caloocan warned vs moonlighting

Caloocan City police commander Senior Supt. Jemar Modequillo warned the 300 new police personnel on Sunday that those found short-changing their jobs will be sacked.

Modequillo confronted the new staff of the station and asserted that he is angry with policemen who fake reporting to duty, “but the truth is they are somewhere else, doing moonlight jobs.”

He said he will not recommend those caught cheating for suspension, but rather be permanently removed from the roster.

The new assigned cops in Caloocan came from different stations in neighboring cities of Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela following the firing of the city’s entire police force for their apparent roles in the controversial deaths of minors Kian delos Santos, Carl Angelo Arnaiz and Reynaldo de Guzman.

Other Caloocan police operatives, who have since been relieved and transferred along with 1,000 policemen from the Northern Police District, were implicated in looting houses under the guise of drug buy-bust operations.
