BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The Department of Agriculture regional office recently turned over tramlines and spring development projects to farmers here.
Celerina Miranda, DA provincial chief, said the agricultural resources were given to farmers’ organizations in the upland towns of Dupax del Norte, Dupax del Sur and Kayapa.
“Tramlines have become a fastest means of transporting agricultural products of upland farmers while springs, which are abundant in our upland villages, need to be maximized for the benefit of our farmers,” she said.
With the tramlines and spring projects, Miranda said more upland farmers will be encouraged to use vast upland areas that are open for upland farming.
“We also provided organizational and management training for the project recipients so that they will know how to manage these agricultural projects for their long-term benefit,” she said.
