Isabela-Quirino bridge now open

TUGUEGARAO—A new bridge connecting Isabela and Quirino provinces is now providing easy access to the public traveling to and from these northern areas, Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Director Engineer Melanio C. Briosos said Monday.

“The Sisim Bridge is more resilient, which will benefit residents and motorists who have been risking their lives and properties crossing the old, ravaged bridge,” Briosos said.

DPWH allocated P52.2 million for the construction of the new 50-lineal meter bridge, including the additional 270-meter concreted approaches on both sides to complement its reliability.

The bridge “will play a major role in the interplay of agricultural, industrial and tourism growth in the said provinces,” he added.
