Tanauan mayor helps CSC discuss HR in LGUs

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas —In celebration of the 117th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission, Tanauan Mayor Antonio C. Halili was honored to be one of the subject matter experts on the recent 2017 Local Executives Program last Tuesday at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City.

As the head of one of the distinguished local government units in Region IV-A in the field of Human Resources, Halili was invited by the CSC Regional Office III to talk about “Moving Forward to Achieving HR Excellence” and, therefore, inspire 600 attendees from Region 3 to appreciate and understand their critical roles and responsibilities as HR Champion in their respective organizations.

The mayor shared and emphasized the importance of being a leader by example to govern the people properly. He acknowledged the ever-hardworking employees of the LGU of Tanauan, whom he considered as one of the vital factors in the current success of the city.

Also present in the event was Jacqueline A. Landicho, 2017 Best HR Management Practitioner in Region IV and head of the HR Management and Development Office of the city government of Tanauan. She shared the LGU’s current practices that led to the achievement of numerous milestones specifically the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence – Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) Level II.

As manifestation of the city’s commitment towards further development of its HR practices, Tanauan City was the third LGU recipient of the 2015 Philippine Quality Award and was the only LGU in Calabarzon rated “Excellent” (93.09%) by the Civil Service Commission in its latest ARTA-RCS.

Lastly, it was also shortlisted as one of the finalists in the 2017 Investors in People International Awards.
