OceanaGold scholarship slots still open for 2017

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Following a review of its current scholarship program, mining firm OceanaGold Philippines Inc. announced, six slots are still available for its Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences Scholarship for the first semester of school year 2017-2018.

The announcement was sent through email by the scholarship coordinator of OceanaGold’s Didipio Operations.

“Qualified applicants [should be] bonafide residents of the province of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino,” the bulletin said.

Courses covered include Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, and Agricultural Engineering.

OceanaGold gave Oct. 15 as the deadline of submission of applications.

Earlier, the other operating mine in Nueva Vizcaya, FCF Minerals Corp., also announced that it has opened the review of current scholarship program to open a new search for available slots.

OceanaGold is operating the Didipio mine in Kasibu town. FCF Minerals just commenced its commercial production in Runruno, Quezon early in July.
