SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan”•Less than a month after a much-publicized massacre of five family members inside North Ridge Royal Subdivision in Barangay Sto. Cristo here, another rape-murder case involving a five-year-old girl was reported and solved by the police over the weekend.
Supt. Fitz Macariola, SJDM City police chief, said a 13-year-old suspect has been arrested. The suspect is a student and a resident of Verde Heights Subdivision in Barangay Kaypian.
The lifeless body of the victim was found in a grassy portion inside Verde Heights, wrapped in a sack and tied with a cable wire, at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. The victim apparently died of strangulation.
Police investigators said the victim’s neck was also tied with a bag strap, believed to have been used to strangle the girl. The suspect was identified through camera footage from the subdivision security, which enabled the police to arrest the teenager. He was brought to the SJDM police station, accompanied by his father.
